Bayelsa state residents have been gripped by fear after the outbreak of a rare deadly viral disease known as monkeypox in the state. The Punch reports that the state commissioner for health, Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu, confirmed the development. According to World Health organisation, monkeypox occurs primarily in remote parts of Central and West Africa that “can cause a fatal illness in humans and although it is similar to human smallpox which has been eradicated, it is much milder.” ......Click to See more
