Fox News reports that a 12-year-old girl from Pennsylvania, United States (U.S.) narrowly escaped death for incorrectly reciting Bible verses, an assignment given to her by her mother. Reports say the mother of the girl, Rhonda Shoffner, beat and tried to strangle her for incorrectly reciting Bible verses. She was later sentenced to prison.
